100% Estate Syrah, Pettilant-Naturel
Stainless steel fermented
This is a weird, non-conformist, experimental, fearlessly unique wine. While at the same time, it's jovial and comforting. We like to think of it as a time capsule full of 2019 indulgence, excentricity, and bounty. Unlike anything we’ve made before! This sparkling red made with our estate grapes tips its hat to its Italian cousin Lambrusco. Just like Lambrusco, it is meant to be consumed the following fall, chilled, with roasted chestnuts, warm bread, and fig jam.
Pop the crown cap of this bottle and you will be met by the aromas that were permeating the winery in the middle of the 2019 harvest: ripe grapes, fresh fermentation, and lots of black pepper. Let it breathe for an hour and the fermenting grape juice aromas will be replaced with earthiness, structured tannins, and ripe elderberry. Creamy bubbles lift elderberry, Oregon grape, and celery root aromas out of your glass.
Slightly chewy tannins, petrichor, and earth on the palate. Followed by paprika and peppered bacon or something meaty like your Hungarian grandma's goulash.
